The CASCADES 2009 National Award Winners

At their 7th annual Awards Gala held in Regina, Saskatchewan, on June 6th, the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) announced the 2009 winners of the CASCADE Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in science and technology engagement by its members. Two organisations were recognized for their contributions to the field. Nominations for Best Outreach Program and Best Exhibit or Show were adjudicated by an awards Jury. Organisations with a representative on the Awards Jury are not eligible to make nominations.

Nights of Environmental Science (NES) is a program targeted to rural areas of New Brunswick; areas outside the province’s three main cities where access to informal educational programs is very limited. The program raises public awareness of science and demonstrates that one person can make a difference when it comes to protecting the environment.

L’Association canadienne des centres de science
Gagnants des prix nationaux CASCADE 2009

Lors de son septième gala annuel, à Regina, le 6 juin, l’Association canadienne des centres de science (ACCS) a annoncé les gagnants des prix CASCADE, pour reconnaître les réalisations exceptionnelles de ses membres en science et en technologie. Deux organisations ont été récompensées pour leurs contributions. Les prix du Meilleur programme externe et de la Meilleure exposition ou meilleur spectacle ont été attribués par un jury. Les organisations qui ont un représentant au sein du jury ne peuvent pas se porter candidates.

Nights of Environmental Science (NES) [soirées des sciences environnementales] est un programme visant les zones rurales du Nouveau-Brunswick, à l’extérieur des trois grandes villes, où l’accès aux programmes d’éducation est très limité. Le programme fait mieux connaître les sciences et démontre qu’une personne peut faire une différence lorsqu’il est question de protéger l’environnement.
